the high line, at last, part one

a former rail line for freight,
it runs for nearly two miles
from gansevoort street in the
chic meatpacking district
(love those three words together)
to thirty fourth near eleventh ave.

saved from the wrecking ball
by friends of the high line
it opened a week ago, on tuesday the 9th:
new york's newest park.

i didn't dare to hope for much
yet much is given...

  1. What a fabulous idea. Maybe in the future some of our freeway overpasses will also look like this.
