patzcuaro

the negative scanning
proceeds. i'm really enjoying
revisiting places i photographed
before the digital age.

i went to patzcuaro during
the festivities of dia de los muertos
in 2001. i felt the need to
get away after the events of
september 11 and mexico
was a great escape.

these are mainly about texture and atmosphere.
more to come.

  1. Very ambitious of you to be scanning negatives. Gratefully, I came into photography when the digital age struck (actually I was in photography many years ago when my apartment was broken into and my fancy pants camera was stolen and as a naive young thing I didn't have insurance so I never was able to replace it). I'm not sure I could do what you are doing. But that's what a snowy season is for, isn't it?!

  2. Love that shot of the little coffins, are they made out of sugar?

  3. Lovely photos that bring back some memories for me too, although we weren't on the same trip(s). Scanning negatives?! I did that but so much work.
